He stares up at her with a frown, thrusting his chin out, a white cloth tied over his head. The fellow at left shields a lantern beneath the sleeve of his striped kimono, watching the pair with interest. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Sadanji I as Nakamura Kanjaku III and Sawamura Tossho II. Lively color, with the pink cherry blossoms contrasting nicely with the deep blue night sky.
