Series; Heroes of the Taiheiki, 1867

Yoshiiku's Heroes of the Taiheiki - Published in 1867, Yoshiiku's chuban sized "Heroes of the Taiheiki" series depicts fifty great samurai and daimyo who took part in the closing period of the civil wars in 16th century Japan, just before unification of the country. Whether engaged in battle, posing heroically, fighting off demons or wild animals, or in camp preparing for the next attack, Yoshiiku presents each individual with wonderful detail and color, creating dramatic and classic samurai images. A seldom seen series, and a terrific choice for a collector interested in the samurai tradition.

Condition - This print excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes at one side from previous folio binding, a couple small wormholes or holes, repaired. Slight soiling, creasing, and rubbing. Please see photos for individual condition. Generally in good condition overall.
