Comments - Terrific battle scene from the Sino-Japanese War showing the Japanese Second Army attacking the Chinese at Port Arthur. At right, a general urges his troops forward, waving his sword while gripping the reins of his prancing horse. Soldiers fire from guns with bayonets fixed, striking the enemy as they mount a small hill at left. Wonderfully detailed with burnishing in the general's black uniform and fine line work in the braided trim of the officer's clothing, plus handsome wood grain impression in the sky. A great image from this historic war.
