Hokusai Book Illustrations from a London Estate - We recently acquired a terrific group of Hokusai's woodblock book illustrations from a London Estate. In addition to his famous "100 Views of Mt. Fuji" series and his 15-volume collection of "Manga," this versatile artist illustrated more than 250 books during his lifetime. Subjects ranged from poetry and warriors to novels and scenes from nature, alongside drawing manuals and designs for craftsmen. These fascinating images display his masterful compositions and skillful draftsmanship, with a keen eye for details and a wonderful ability to capture human gestures and personalities.
