Comments - Terrific image depicting life inside a foreign residence in Yokohama. The men and women sit at cloth-covered tables, drinking and enjoying the meal set out before them. Two of the men hold glass goblets, and a large vase holds a floral arrangement. The couple at upper left is identified as English, while the man in the brown hat at right is Dutch. An archway behind the group leads to another room with glass windows, and a pillar at left is topped with a carved capital. A fascinating image of Westerners in Yokohama, with a nicely detailed setting and attractive color.
