Kato Kiyomasa on Campaign in Korea

Comments - Interesting portrait of the great warrior Kato Kiyomasa while in Korea during the Seven-Year War. The samurai stands along the bank of a rushing river, gripping a pole arm as he lunges ahead. He wears a fine suit of armor over a violet kimono tucked into yellow print pants, his tall helmet covered with silver mica, a nice touch. A clump of bamboo fills the background. A handsome design, detailed with burnishing in the armor.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
