Comments - Interesting Osaka kabuki portrait of a scowling samurai holding a banner hanging from a bamboo pole, one hand clutching the end of the fabric. The sleeves of his green and white print outer robe are pushed down to the waist, revealing a red kimono patterned with clouds. Behind him, snow falls heavily against the night sky, blanketing the bamboo below. A great expressive figure.
