Minamoto no Tametomo

Series; Mirror of Our Country's Military Elegance, circa 1845

Minamoto no Tametomo - Terrific portrait of Minamoto no Tametome, the great archer, sinking the leading ship of Mochimitsu's fleet with a single arrow. He perches upon a rocky outcropping at left, gripping his bow, having just released the arrow, the wind blowing his robes about him. A fantastic image of this legendary warrior.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 15" x 10 1/4"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A horizontal crease at center. A number of small holes repaired from reverse. A few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
