Courtesan Trimming a Lamp

Series; Starlight Frost and Modern Manners

Courtesan Trimming a Lamp - Fine reprint of a very early Kunisada design, around 1818, of a young beauty in a tie-dyed red under robe, extinguishing the light in her room at nighttime. The two teacups on a black lacquer tray suggest that a man is waiting in bed for her. A lovely, sensuous design with soft bokashi shading. A Kunisada masterwork, fantastic for display.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 15 3/8" x 10 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Lower left corner clipped. A few faint spots. Please see photos for details. Excellent overall.
