Original Eisen (1790 - 1848) Japanese Woodblock Print
Young Woman with Fan under a Full Moon Kakemono, circa 1843 - 1847

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a young beauty carrying a round fan with a design of pine trees. She smiles happily as she looks back over her shoulder, the evening breeze blowing the flowing sleeves of her kimono. Her robe is shaded from green to white, with a border of circular floral motifs in brown and green, and she wears chunky wooden geta sandals. A full moon glows in the sky above, the shape just barely defined by the shading in the night sky. A charming subject, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 27 3/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. A few holes, a few small tears at edges, repaired. Toning, creasing, and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
