Nisaburo Ito - Born in Kyoto in 1910, shin-hanga artist Nisaburo Ito created many woodblock prints of flowers, landscapes, and noted shrines and temples around his hometown. Some of his designs reflect his study of nihonga or traditional Japanese painting, while others take on a more modern expression. His floral and nature subjects are beautifully rendered with wonderful color and attention to detail. His attractive prints are a lovely choice to collect or display.
Comments - Lovely image of a large pink peony blossom and partially opened bud, the ruffled petals delicately shaded in pink and white. The clear pastel flowers form a beautiful contrast with the deep green leaves. Would make a terrific framed presentation.
