Comments - Interesting depiction of beauties involved in producing silk. At lower right, a beauty plucks silkworm cocoons from branches, filling baskets with them. The woman behind her kneels beside a boiling pot of water, which releases the silk from the cocoons so that she can wind it onto wooden spools. Finished skeins of silk thread are hanging at upper left, while shelves at right hold more cocoons waiting to be processed. A nice look at the ancient art of sericulture.
