Tea Ceremony, 1897

Comments - Attractive scene of beauties attending a tea ceremony. At right, the hostess carefully ladles water into a tea bowl, a whisk resting on the floor nearby. Her three guests sit quietly with their hands in their laps as they observe the ritual. Each wears a colorful kimono and obi, The room opens onto a garden with stepping stones and water flowing from a stone basin at left, with a lantern hanging overhead. A charming image with wonderful detail in the elegant fabrics.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Slight toning and soiling, a few small stains, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
