Original 19th century Japanese Woodblock Print
Shrine Festival

Comments - Fascinating depiction of a festival, with visitors crowding the grounds of a shrine for the celebration. Many carry bamboo branches decorated with lucky objects, such as oversize gold coins and Daikoku's magic mallet. A large red torii gate towers above the people below, who pass through an entryway at left beneath rows of colorful lanterns. A great subject with wonderful detail.
