Series; Kyosai Rakuga (Kyosai's Drawings for Pleasure)

Kyosai Rakuga - Attractive image from the series "Kyosai Rakuga" (Kyosai's Drawings for Pleasure). These charming designs feature a wide range of subjects from nature, including flowers, insects, fish, and animals. From mischievous monkeys and a fox playing with a turtle to still-lifes of fish and flowers, these handsome illustrations are drawn with lively, calligraphic brushwork enhanced with soft color. Kyosai depicted what appealed to him as an artist, capturing the beauty and humor of the world around. Printed on thin paper with natural variations.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical centerfold from previous album inclusion. Paper remnants on reverse at left edge. Small loss, a few thinning spots at edges, repaired. Creasing, a few faint stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
