Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of three actors posed on the Ryogoku Bridge in the Eastern Capital. The beauty at left smiles happily as she carries an insect cage, lifting the hem of her robe as she walks on tall geta sandals. The fellow in the center crouches next to the railing, a pipe and tobacco pouch in hand. The woman at right relaxes, leaning against the top rail with a fan in her hand. She wears a blue and white summer kimono tied with a gray obi, her hair pulled back into a knot adorned with several hairpins, a few loose wisps framing her face. The water below is fills with boats, and the rooftops of the city can be seen along the opposite shore. From left, the actors are Iwai Kumesaburo III, Ichikawa Danjuro VIII, and Bando Shuka I. An attractive design with a great composition and soft shading in the water and sky.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Small loss at edge, slight separation along vertical fold at edges of two panels, a few wormholes, repaired. Soiling, slight toning, a few creases and slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
