Visiting Sekidera, 1857 - Attractive scene of beauties visiting Sekidera Temple at night. At left, a beauty just arriving sits in a palanquin, chatting with a companion who rests one hand atop the roof. In the center, a woman gestures as she walks ahead of a young, who holds up a red paper lantern. Two beauties follow along at right, one carrying a round lantern at the end of a pole. She wears a blue, white, and gray summer kimono tied with a black obi that reverses to at blue tie-dyed print. The temple buildings are shown in gray silhouette against the evening sky, with colorful flags hung up at upper left. At far fight, a young monk kneels beside a vendor's stand. An attractive image, nicely detailed with burnishing in the black obi and soft shading in the sky.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 29 5/8"

Condition - This print with color and excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Slight separation along vertical folds at left side of two panels, a few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
