Manji Takao, 1859 - Attractive portrait of the beauty Manji Takao and a young girl. She wears a blue kimono patterned with large tie-dyed maple leaves and flowing water, tied with a checked obi. Her hair is arranged in a large loop tied with white ribbon, and adorned with a hairpin decorated with a maple leaf. She looks down over her shoulder at her companion, who quietly stares back up at her. A handsome portrait, with delicate embossing in the white kimono trim and fine line work in the hair. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Stitching holes at right edge from previous binding, a few wormholes, repaired. Toning, creasing, and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
