Series; Famous Places of Edo Compared with One Hundred Beautiful Women

Gofuku-bashi, 1857 - Charming portrait of a beauty enjoying a meal, smiling as she looks over her shoulder, a sake bottle in her hand. She wears a finely detailed brown plaid kimono tied with a blue print obi, her hair arranged in a smooth bun with a comb slipping loose at the side. A red lacquer tray on the floor holds a large blue and white ceramic platter of sushi. The inset at upper left depicts the Gofuku Bridge, just visible at lower right, with pedestrians strolling along the street lined with shops and teahouses, the building in the foreground topped with a dolphin ornament. An attractive design with fine bokashi shading in the background.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Toned at sides. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
