The Hurried Type

Series; Thirty-two Aspects in the Modern Style, 1859

The Hurried Type - Attractive image of a beauty in a hurry, trying to tie her striped obi around her waist quickly as she leans forward, a roll of tissues caught between her teeth. She wears a blue striped kimono with a black collar over a red under robe with a print collar, her hair pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with a comb, hairpins, and a white ribbon. The inset by Gengyo at upper right shows two umbrellas and a pair of geta clogs beneath a glowing paper lantern. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and soft bokashi shading in the background. Also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper, slightly curled. Soiling, a few creases and small stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
