Famous Geisha Compared to the Thirty-six Poets - Lovely woodblock from a charming series by Toyokuni III depicting famous geisha and courtesans paired with verses by Japan's famous Thirty-six Poets. Each image features elegant beauties in a scene from daily life, with a poem enclosed in a title cartouche along with different decorative elements. Some images include embossing, a deluxe printing technique. Beautifully drawn with wonderful detail in the settings and kimono fabrics. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this series in its collection.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Wormholes, some prints have small losses or thinning at edges, repaired. Slight soiling, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
