Hiroshige Print Collection - Terrific, complete selected set of 22 lovely, vertical format kacho-e and landscape prints by Hiroshige, published as the "Hiroshige Print Collection" by the venerable Takamizawa Publisher, and distributed by the Ukiyo-e Enthusiasts Club. These beautiful reprints include some of the artist's most famous nature subjects, such as "Two Rabbits under a Full Moon" and "Sparrows, Flowering Camellia, and Snow," along with images from his series "Famous Views of Edo in the Four Seasons." Beautifully printed with crisp line work, fresh color, and fine bokashi shading, these works demonstrate Hiroshige's mastery of composition, creating lyrical asymmetrical designs. Dealers often break these sets to sell off the prints individually, but we were lucky enough to find this set complete.

The Presentation - The set is comprised of two traditional cloth-covered outer cases with tie closures, each containing eleven prints. Each print is loose within a windowed viewing folder, which is slipped into an individual envelope. Each envelope has the series title on the front with publishing information and the number of the print within the set on the reverse. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a group of classic Hiroshige designs in a beautiful presentation format as issued by the Takamizawa Publisher.

Size - Print size varies from 14 3/4" x 5" + margins as shown to 15" x 6 3/4" + margins as shown; windowed folders 19" x 9 7/8"; each outer case 19 5/8" x 10 3/8" x 1 1/8"
Condition - Prints: with beautiful color and detail as shown, clean and bright. A few prints have a couple small thinning spots on reverse at one side from the original mounting. Two have small losses at corners, small thinning spot at edge of one print, repaired. Small spot on one envelope and folder inside. Very nice condition overall. Cases: A couple small losses to title slip on one case, missing an inside tie in one case. Ties slightly frayed at ends.
