Original 19th century Japanese Woodblock Print
Foreigners in Yokohama

Comments - Interesting depiction of a house filled with foreigners in Yokohama. The Westerners are gathered around a table piled with food and drink in a room overlooking the water. At left, a man in a red jacket admires the expansive view with a Japanese beauty at his side. At lower right, a Chinese servant carries a tray down the stairs as a geisha peers over the railing with a stern expression. An intriguing Yokohama subject.
