Hayashi Tanshiro Taketoshi (Hayashi Hanshiro Taketoshi) - Fantastic depiction of Hayashi Tanshiro Taketoshi gripping one enemy under each arm. The faces of his opponents are an ashen gray as he crushes them in his strong grasp. Taketoshi's hair flies up wildly as he whips his head around to look behind him. A retainer of the Akechi Clan, he was defeated by Hideyoshi in 1582 at the Battle of Uchide-no-hama. A dramatic action pose with terrific detail, and a great choice for a samurai enthusiast.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds. Two losses with thinning, a few wormholes, repaired. Toning and soiling, slight rubbing and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
