Angry Nobleman with a Young Prince on His Shoulder - Handsome kabuki scene of the great warrior Mashiba Hisayoshi (the kabuki name for Hashiba Hideyoshi carrying a young prince on his shoulder. He angrily confronts two other samurai, who glare back at him, the fellow in the center sneering disrespectfully. Hisayoshi wears a black robe with a beautiful burnished paulownia pattern and a tall black court cap. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Sadanji I, Sawamura Tossho II, Nakamura Shikan IV as Mashiba Hisayoshi, and Sawamura Tossho II. Nice large figures set off by a deep blue background, with additional burnishing in all three black court caps, and embossing in the white kimono trim at left.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Three small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, faint toning, a few spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
