Offerings for a Daimyo - Terrific illustration of offerings being presented to a daimyo at a palace. At bottom center, farmers carry in baskets filled with small green melons, turning them over to retainers dressed in armor at left. Several baskets of fruit are arranged on a red cloth on the verandah, along with wooden pails, baskets filled with fish, and offering trays stacked with small containers and a cloth-wrapped parcel. A group of monks and townspeople kneel at right. The nobleman stands in the center, holding his sword in one hand and a split object in the other. Warriors dressed in armor are seated around the rooms under purple drapery emblazoned with a paulownia crest. A fascinating subject, wonderfully detailed and vibrantly colored.

Artist - Toyonobu (1859 - 1886)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 26 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Light ink offsetting, very slight rubbing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
