Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi

Kinoshita Tokichiro and Matsushita Kahei Fencing, 1883 - Handsome scene of the two warriors Kinoshita Tokichiro (the young Hideyoshi) and Matsushita Kahei practicing martial arts, fencing with wooden swords. Two men urge them on from the sidelines, watching as the younger man at left advances with his sword held before him. The room opens onto a lovely garden dotted with blossoming cherry trees. Nicely drawn with fine detail, including light embossing on the cherry blossoms and burnishing on the black kimono. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Slight soiling, light ink offsetting. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
