Fujibakama, Chapter 30: Kujaku Saburo - Terrific kabuki portrait of the yakko or servant Ranpei, whose real name was Kujaku Saburo, standing atop at stone castle wall. He grips his sword with one hand as unseen opponents jab at him with pole arms from below. He wears a striking black kimono patterned with flowers and a peacock, a reference to his name Kujaku, which means peacock, the sleeves tied back with rope. His hair sticks out wildly around his face, and he is bleeding from a gash to his forehead. An intriguing design with fine detail and an attractive landscape background.

Artist - Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904)
