Beauty in a Peacock Kimono, 1860

Comments - Charming kabuki portrait of a beauty watching fireflies on a summer night. She wears a beautiful blue and white cotton kimono patterned with a peacock and blossoms, trimmed with a red tie-dyed collar. She smiles slightly as she looks to the side, a round fan in her hand as the insects dart about the evening sky, glowing softly above the tall autumn grasses and delicate blossoms. A great design detailed with cloth embossing in the white areas of the robe.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Thinning and small loss at top left corner, slight thinning at bottom left corner, a few small holes, repaired. Light toning, slight soiling, slight rubbing and softening at upper left. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
