Series; Forty-eight Famous Views of Edo

Kiyomizu Hall at Ueno - Terrific landscape design from Hiroshige II's "Forty-Eight Famous Views of Edo." This handsome series was published from 1860 to 1861, quite early in Hiroshige II's career. These attractive scenes feature classic views of famous landmarks and beautiful scenery in and around Edo, in a variety of seasons. From temples surrounded by blossoming cherry trees to busy harbors or crowded streets, these charming images capture life in old Edo in colorful detail.

Image Size - 8 3/4" x 6 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants or thinning on reverse at top corners from previous mounting, thinning repaired. Some prints have slight soiling or a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
