Comments - Lovely Eishi design of the courtesan Sugawara of the Tsuruya enjoying an afternoon stroll, accompanied by her attendants Mumeno and Takeno and a young girl. A large paper lantern with a design of a crane with outstretched wings rests on the ground between the women. In the center, Sugawara wears a beautiful kimono patterned with peonies, tied with an obi featuring cranes and clouds. Her white under robe is delicately embossed, a nice detail. A wonderful beauty subject with subtle color, the many shades of gray enlivened with touches of yellow and green.
