Twelve Animals of the Zodiac

Comments - Terrific, creative scene of the animals of the zodiac gathered for a meal, each with a human body. At lower right, the kneeling ox gestures with his hand, welcoming the horse, who wears a red cape. At top left, the tiger sits with his arms folded across his chest, a few bowls of food and a cup of sake on the floor before him. The monkey, the dragon, and the dog sit near a large red lacquer tray with blue and white ceramic bowls filled with delicacy. A standing screen with a green frame depicts a large wheel with the kanji characters for the zodiac and other writing. A fascinating, humorous design, wonderfully detailed and vibrantly colored.
