Series; The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido by Two Brushes

Nissaka, 1854 - Intriguing scene of a beauty standing over a water basin made from a tree stump, watching in amazement as water spurts up from it like a fountain. She waves a dipper above her head as she looks down, her brows slightly furrowed. A blue kimono patterned with plum blossoms lies on the ground nearby, and she wears a tie-dyed red outer robe bordered with a blue print over a yellow floral kimono. Hiroshige's landscape above shows the station of Nissaka, with a few buildings lining the road at right and pine tree dotting the softly shaded grassy slope at left. An attractive design, nicely colored and detailed. A variant edition with a colored background.
