Series; A Chronicle of the Rise and Fall of the Minamoto and Taira, 1885

Shizuka Gozen - Moving image of Yoshitsune's mistress, the lovely Shizuka Gozen, helping him to put on his armor as a battle rages outside the mansion. She holds a shoulder pad for him, watching with quiet regard as he pulls a strap over his shoulder. His battle helmet, sword, and arrows rest on the floor nearby. On the verandah outside the, an archer fires into the attacking samurai as arrows fly through the night sky. Nicely detailed with embossing in the white cloth screen at left, and fine bokashi shading and wood grain impression in the sky.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/8" + margins as shown
