Original Kiyochika (1847 - 1915) Japanese Woodblock Print
Portrait of a Courtesan

Comments - Lovely portrait of an elegant courtesan, smiling as she looks over her shoulder, a loose wisp of hair framing her face. Her purple outer kimono is patterned with delicate green blossoms and a carp leaping up a waterfall, worn over a tie-dyed red-orange under robe. Her red-orange obi features a playful design of rabbits and flowers. A beautiful image, detailed with fine line work in the hair, silver mica in the waterfall and obi, and handsome wood grain impression in the background.

Artist - Kiyochika (1847 - 1915)

Image Size - 12 1/4" x 8 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous hinge mounting. Slight toning. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
