Series; Embracing Komachi, 1802 - A fine, reprint offrom Utamaro's "Embracing Komachi" (komachi-biki). Produced to celebrate the New Year in 1802, this series compares each of the women to the famed Ono no Komachi, a famous ninth-century poet. She was considered one of the six best poets of the Heian era and renowned for her incredible beauty. She was considered a paragon of beauty and her name has become synonymous with beauty in Japan.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A vertical crease at center. A few small holes repaired from reverse. A few light spots. Some light rubbing and soiling at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
