Series; Famous and Courageous Heroes of the Taiheiki, 1867

Akechi Hyuga Mamoru Mitsuhide - Great portrait of the treacherous Akechi Mitsuhide, whose betrayal led to Oda Nobunaga's death. He stands on a verandah looking over his shoulder with an angry scowl, his fan in hand and his court cap tucked inside his robe. He wears a blue kamishimo over a green kimono, the long pants trailing beneath his feet. His hair is pulled back into a topknot, with losses wisps around his face giving him a somewhat disheveled appearance. A terrific image, nicely composed and colored.

Artist - Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904)

Image Size - 9 3/4" x 6 3/4"

Condition - With excellent detail as shown. Small loss and slight thinning at bottom edge, repaired. Slight soiling, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
