Listening to Insects at Dokan Hill, circa 1839 - 1842 - Wonderful scene of picnickers on Dokan Hill listening to insects and enjoying the evening breeze. Two beauties and a young girl climb the pathway to the hill, the girl carrying a small insect cage. Tall pine trees frame the view at right, with fields stretching across the plains below. A large full moon rises above the village in the distance, with misty clouds drifting before it. A charming design.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Vertical center fold. Slight separation at ends of fold, two small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, slight rubbing at lower left edge. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
