Red Maple Leaves at Kaianji Temple, circa 1832 - 1838 - Terrific scene of people enjoying a lovely autumn day viewing the colorful maple leaves at Kaianji Temple in Shinagawa. Two young children clamber up the hill at right, leaving their mother behind on the path. At left, two men relax on a mat spread on the ground, smoking a pipe and having a snack, a tea stand nearby. The hilltop site provides a lovely view of the city below and the water beyond. A wonderful image with attractive color. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.

Image Size - 8 5/8" x 13 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Vertical center fold. Slight separation at ends of fold, thinning at lower left corner, a few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
