Sparrows, Flowering Camellia, and Snow

Comments - Lovely winter design of two sparrows in mid-flight, about to settle on a camellia branch, the rose colored blossoms covered with snow. Large flakes of snow fall in the background against a wintry gray sky. A charming print, beautifully detailed with embossing in the bird's feathers and fine bokashi shading in the sky. The poem reads:

The crow fights with the kite over food;
The sparrows dispute over nests.
You stand along beside the pond
On a windy, snowy evening.

An attractive design, stamped "Made in Japan" on reverse.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 15" x 6 7/8"
