Shunkei's Collection of Insects - Beautiful woodblock print from Osaka artist Mori Shunkei's series depicting a variety of insects in natural settings. These charming designs are handsomely composed, with a wonderful sense of balance and asymmetry, with carefully detailed insects and plants. These images come from a Meiji era edition, circa 1880s. A wonderful example of early Edo era nature subjects.
