Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty on a Bridge, 1854

Comments - Lovely portrait of a beauty on a bridge, smiling as she looks over her shoulder. Her kimono is shaded from dark blue to light, bordered with ducks and cherry blossoms floating on swirling water, tied with a striped obi. She wears tall wooden geta clogs and has a purse wrapped in tissues tucked into the front of her sash. The water beyond is busy with boats carrying cargo and passengers, with the masts from ships anchored in the harbor at right. A charming Edo era subject.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small loss at bottom left corner, a few wormholes and small holes, repaired. Toning and slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
