Original Kuniyasu (1794 - 1832) Japanese Woodblock Print
Courtesan and Bird Cage

Comments - Attractive kabuki portrait of an elegantly dressed courtesan. She looks over her shoulder as she holds a roll of tissues to her shoulder, lifting the hem of her robe with her other hand. Her outer kimono is shaded from blue to gray with a design of large white chrysanthemums and fans, worn over a rose-colored under robe tied with a red and black print obi. A bird cage hangs at upper right, with a bird on a perch inside. A charming image, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kuniyasu (1794 - 1832)

Image Size - 15" x 10 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few wormholes and small holes, small loss at bottom left corner, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
