The Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province

Series; The Six Jewel Rivers

The Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province - Lovely image of a beauty crossing the Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province. An attendant holds her by the wrist as she wades through the ankle-deep water, her long kimono sleeves draped over her arm to keep them from getting wet. A samurai waits at left, while at right, a servant strings their sandals together to carry them across. Flowering yamabuki or yellow roses grow along the shore, with mountains rising above the clouds in the distance. A charming image, beautifully drawn and detailed, with soft color and embossing in the beauty's white kimono.

Artist - Shunman (1757 - 1820)

Image Size - 15" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Light toning and spotting, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
