Ebisu by Eishi (1756 - 1829)

Eishi (1756 - 1829) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Ebisu

Comments - Lovely image from a series about the Seven Lucky Gods showing a beauty playing with a toy fish on a block decorated with waves. The fish represents Ebisu, the God of Wealth. She holds a tasseled cord delicately between her two hands, looking down with a smile. She wears a plum colored kimono patterned with pine, bamboo, and cherry blossoms, tied with a rose colored obi with a leaf design. A charming subject with fine detail in the hairline.

Artist - Eishi (1756 - 1829)

Image Size - 15" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Faint toning, a few small spots. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
