True Picture of Autumn Leaves at Shiba Park, 1881

Comments - Lovely triptych showing the Meiji Empress and ladies of the court viewing the autumn color at Shiba Park. In the center, the empress sits on a chair, holding a fan and wearing a small crown. Beside her, a beauty in a phoenix patterned kimono watches the young prince as he looks out over the railing. At right, a beauty uses a pair of binoculars to see into the distance, where boats dot the water. The grounds are covered with lush green foliage and maple trees with bright red leaves. A charming design with wonderful detail and vibrant color.

Artist - Hiroshige III (1843 - 1894)

Image Size - 14" x 28 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few small holes, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing, slight rubbing near edges, paperclip rust marks at top edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
