Series; Eight Views of Omi

Twilight Snow at Hira, 1847 - 1852 - Charming winter scene of a nobleman watching some young girls playing in the snow. He leans against his palanquin at right, smiling as he looks back. The girl at right returns his gaze with an anxious expression, her eyes wide as she pats the side of a giant snowman that she and her friends are building. One of the girls giggles into her hands as she watches her, with the beauty in the center smiles down at her fondly. Snow-covered reeds line the water's edge, and two herons taking flight into the dark night sky. A lovely design with attractive color and detail, and fine bokashi shading in the water and sky. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.
