Beauty Carrying a Robe Kakemono

Comments - Beautiful kakemono or vertical diptych of a young beauty carrying a striped robe over her arm, looking up with a slight smile. Her hair is pulled smoothly back into a bun adorned with a ribbon and hairpins, a few loose wisps framing her face. She wears a tan cherry blossom print kimono edged with a black floral print and lined with brocade, tied with a checked obi that reverses to a red geometric design. Her tall wooden geta sandals have furry straps, and a flash of her red under robe can be seen above her feet. A charming design and an attractive choice for display.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 26 1/2" x 9"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. A few small holes, repaired. Faint toning, a few creases, faint stain at bottom edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
