Audience with a Daimyo

Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Shinsen Taikoki), 1883

Audience with a Daimyo - Handsome scene of a young samurai paying a visit to a daimyo. He kneels respectfully before the nobleman, who scowls down at him from a platform. The warrior wears a beautiful red robe patterned with trailing vines over his armor, his hair pulled back into a short ponytail. The nobleman wears a voluminous purple robe and tall black court cap, a page kneeling at his side holding his sword. Wonderful detail in the fine palace setting and interior furnishings, with touches of burnishing in the black armor. An attractive design, vibrantly colored.

Artist - Toyonobu (1859 - 1886)

Image Size - 14" x 18 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Very slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
