By Request, a Parody of Komachi Praying for Rain

Series; Seven Komachi

By Request, a Parody of Komachi Praying for Rain - Lovely design of a beauty caught during a sudden rain shower, a parody of a famous incident in the life of the Heian era poet Ono no Komachi, when she prayed for rain and saved the country from drought. She hurriedly puts up her umbrella as she slips one foot into her tall wooden geta sandal, the other leg still curled up beside her. She wears a beautiful kimono bordered with a pattern of morning glories climbing a trellis. A charming subject, attractively colored and shaded.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Crease at bottom right corner. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
